Our Commitment

Confidentiality

Discretion is fundamental to how we work. The organisations we advise often do so at moments of sensitivity, and they rely on us to handle their interests and information with care and complete confidence.

Discretion by default

We approach every relationship on the basis of discretion. Much of our work concerns matters that are commercially sensitive, reputationally significant or simply private, and we treat them accordingly. Confidentiality is not an add-on to our service; it is a condition of it.

This principle applies from the first conversation. You do not need a formal agreement in place for us to treat what you tell us as confidential — we do so as a matter of course.

Confidential handling of enquiries

Initial enquiries are handled in confidence. When you contact us to discuss a situation, we understand that the very fact of the conversation may be sensitive. We keep enquiries private, share them with no one outside our practice, and use the information you provide only to understand how we may be able to help.

If a discussion does not lead to an engagement, the information you have shared remains confidential and is not retained beyond what is reasonably necessary.

Respect for client information

In the course of an engagement we are often given access to confidential information about an organisation, its people and its circumstances. We handle that information with care, limit access to those who genuinely need it, and use it only for the purposes of the work we have been asked to do.

We are experienced in operating within regulated, reputation-sensitive environments and understand the standards of confidentiality such settings demand.

No publication of client details

We do not publish or promote the details of the organisations we advise without their permission. Where we describe experience, we do so in general terms that protect the identity and interests of those involved.

We recognise that for many of our clients, the value of independent advice lies partly in the assurance that the relationship itself remains private. We respect that without exception.

Independent advisory relationships

Our advice is independent and given solely in the interests of the client. We are free of vendor incentives and external commercial arrangements that could compromise our objectivity, which means the guidance we provide is shaped only by the client’s circumstances.

Independence also supports confidentiality. Because we are not selling products or representing other parties, there are no competing interests that might create pressure to disclose or trade on what we know.

Sensitive situations handled professionally

We are frequently engaged at difficult moments — during regulatory scrutiny, operational instability, disputes or significant change. These situations call for a calm, measured and entirely professional approach, and for absolute discretion about what is involved.

Whether the matter concerns a law firm, a private equity sponsor, a professional services organisation, a board or a senior executive, our commitment is the same: to act with judgement, to protect your interests, and to keep what we are trusted with in confidence.
